Families! What can you do to be more involved?

At North Woods School, we encourage and invite you to be involved in your child's education! Whether it's volunteering in the classroom, helping with and attending class parties and other special kindergarten events, or reading and interacting with your child right in your own home, we want you to stay connected! We are a team with one mission in mind...your child's success in life! So let's get started!
  1. Let me know if you'd like to volunteer in our class! I'll send home a short background check form that is quick and painless to complete! For the safety of our students and staff, background forms are required for volunteer work in the classroom. It only takes a couple days for background checks to clear, and then we'll get you helping in kindergarten!
  2. Check out our classroom website and read our weekly newsletter to stay connected to upcoming events in our classroom, school and community! Updated weekly, this communication tool is sure to keep you informed of the great things happening at North Woods School!
  3. Parent organizations provide email updates, blogs, and websites filled with additional family involvement resources! Our very own North Woods PTO (Parent/Teacher Organization) meets monthly and offers a great opportunity to get involved at North Woods School. Bring your ideas (kids are welcome too!) and help make North Woods School even better! National parent organizations such as FAST (Families and Schools Together) and Project Appleseed are two more of the many resources out there! Search "family involvement organizations" on the web to see what's right for you!
