Dear Parents and Guardians, I am excited for the year to come! I look forward to working with you and your child to give them the best learning experience possible. I welcome your phone calls, notes, and emails with questions or concerns. The following information will help us start the year off smoothly. Snacks- We will be taking a snack break once a day. Please have your child bring healthy choices for snack each day. Recess- Please label your child’s sweatshirts and outdoor clothing in case they get left on the playground. Please dress appropriately for the weather. During the winter/snow months, we require students to wear winter outerwear. Regular shoes are needed for class time. Parent Portal- We encourage all of you to sign up for the parent portal as a way to access online your child’s lunch account, attendance, and report cards at the end of each quarter. Sharing/Show & Tell- We will have Show & Tell once a week. Take Home Folders- Take home folders will be sent home daily. Please check team books for important notes. Information will also be shared using the Seesaw app. Gym shoes- All students are required to have tennis shoes for gym. They do not need to be new, just clean and free of rocks. Birthdays- Treats to share are welcome if you choose, please consider a store bought item, or individually wrapped treats. Attendance- If you know ahead of time your child will be absent, please send a note or email. If you don’t know ahead of time, please call the office in the morning to notify them and then send a note when they return to school. Being on time is important! Spelling- Tests will be given on Friday. Studying for 5-10 minutes each night will make for a wonderful test on Friday. Messages- If you need your child to change their end of the day transportation plans, please contact the office. I would hate to miss the voice mail message with something so important. If I do not have a note or a call to the office about after school plans different from what has been set up, I must send students home by their usual mode/route of transportation. I am looking forward to working with you and your child! My school contact information: Mrs. Thiel athiel@isd2142.k12.mn.us 218-666-5221 ext. 5107 Together in learning, Mrs. Thiel |
