VFW Post 1757 Visits North Woods!
In honor of POW/MIA Day and Constitution Day, members of the Bloom-Lahti VFW Post 1757 / Auxiliary recently visited North Woods School and conducted a flag ceremony, in which the North Woods Student Council participated. VFW member Darrel Lindgren explained the significance of the POW/MIA flag and shared the following facts:
  • Over 30,000 WWII POWs/MIAs still missing.
  • Over 7,000 Korean War veterans are still missing.
  • Over 1,000 Vietnam veterans are still missing.
  • One Desert Storm pilot is still missing.
They also sponsored a door decorating contest for the elementary students with a patriotic theme. The decor also had to include  a flag.

Our staff and students are so grateful to this organization for allowing them to participate in this event, and whole-heartedly thank the members for their long-time support and service!!
