Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen Essay Winners Announced!
Along with the Veteran's program, each year North Woods students participate in the Voice of Democracy and the Patriot's Pen essay contests. The Voice of Democracy is for 9th-12th grade and requires students to write a speech and record it for the judging panel.  This year's topic was, "My Vision for America" and the winners were: 1st Place Ashley Vito, 2nd Place Kate Beaudry, and 3rd place Bailey Johnson.
 
The Patriot's Pen is an essay contest for the middle school and the topic was, "What Freedom Means to Me".  Nicole Roy's essay placed 1st, while Nicole Olson received 2nd, and Kylie Parson earned 3rd place. Because the Voice of Democracy and the Patriot's Pen are national contests, the two winner's Ashley Vito and Nicole Roy's essays will advance to the next level. Congratulations to the winners and good luck Ashley and Nicole!
